And one of the most significant artists in the international contemporary art scene, the Indian artist Anish Kapoor, born in 1954, who lives and works in London since the 70s. His works give off a great charismatic force, the artist uses art to change a landscape, strike the imagination, edit an urban landscape but especially move the collective interest and affect social sensitivity. His works explore the dialectic of opposites: man and woman, light and darkness, inside and outside, and the use of color in its purity to become a regular feature, a symbol of the synthesis between East and West.

Kapoor’s works have been exhibited worldwide in museums and in private galleries, including the Tate Modern in London, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Reina Sofia in Madrid and Stedlijk Museum in Amsterdam. Artist’s desire is to “get to the objects that do not resemble anything else […] create things that seem to emanate from a world apart and that through their particular oddity suggest new ways of seeing.” For this creates sculptures individual or groups of objects covered by a veil of pigment capable of transforming forms.

Use different materials, from Carrara marble, granite, slate, all’arenaria for works such as Void Field or Ghost of 1989. It has also ventured with reflective surfaces, creating distorting mirrors, an example is the mega mirror with a slice of heaven in front of the Rockefeller Center in New York. And ‘undoubtedly an artist of global fame that is expressed through iconic and mysterious objects in front of which it is impossible not to be surprised.
