Si tratta infatti di una meravigliosa collezione frutto di un progetto nato in un piccolo villaggio di Bahia, dove la scultrice Selma Calheira ha offerto la possibilità a molte persone di sottrarsi alla vita delle favelas ed imparare l’artigianato locale divenendo veri e propri professionisti in merito. E’ nata così una serie di complementi d’arredo dalle forme familiari, che riproducono mele, pere, peperoncini,cigliege, nocciole e cactus. Elementi naturali che grazie alla fedeltà dei colori (ricordano quelli esotici del Brasile), potrebbero sembrare veri, se non fosse per la dimensione che le rendono piccole sculture tra arte e realtà.
Realizzati interamente in ceramica, i prodotti Cores de Terra nascono dalla ricerca dell’artista con l’obiettivo di produrre oggetti decorativi così perfetti da far suonare all’unisono arte e realtà che ha deciso di utilizzare colori 100% naturali, vegetali ottenuti grazie a fiori e piante del luogo.
“I colori della terra” è infatti un nome evocativo per la collezione di sculture brasiliane che sono state esposte al CAROUSSEL DU LOUVRE a Parigi, presso il Bazar dell’ONU a Ginevra e all’EXPO 96 di New York. Tutti i pezzi sono realizzati a mano e per questo mai uguali, fattore che rende ogni creazione ancor più unica e speciale. Per chi ama arredare con uno stile più eccentrico e particolare, la designer ha pensato anche ad alcune versioni nelle tonalità dell’oro e dell’argento, in diverse misure, così da adattarsi ad ogni tipo di ambiente.
