La verità a volte fa male e in questo caso malissimo. L’illustratore spagnolo Luis Quiles, noto anche con lo pseudonimo di Gunsmithcat, ha deciso di utilizzare la sua arte, provocatoria e contestatrice, per mostrare le tante contraddizioni e problemi della nostra società odierna.
Selfie, social network, fast food, soldi e farmaci gettati a forza in bocca alle persone, la guerra, la fame, la povertà, rappresentate con una semplicità ed un realismo per certi versi crudeli ma assolutamente veritieri. Opere che si sono diffuse rapidamente in internet, dove hanno ottenuto subito grande successo. La sempre più frequente difficoltà nel rapportarsi con il mondo esterno, nel comunicare, viene mostrata nelle sue illustrazioni per far riflettere su noi stessi.
Lo sviluppo costante della tecnologia ha cambiato la vita di tutti ma è ancora difficile capire se in meglio o in peggio, quel che è certo è come queste immagini ci tocchino nel profondo, rappresentando veri e propri stereotipi della vita moderna.

The truth sometimes hurts and in this case very badly. The Spanish illustrator Luis Quiles, also known by the pseudonym Gunsmithcat, decided to use his art, provocative and rebellious, to show the many contradictions and problems in our society today. Selfie, social networks, fast food, money and medication thrown forcibly into the mouth to the people, war, hunger, poverty, represented with a simplicity and realism somewhat cruel but absolutely true.
Works that have spread quickly on the Internet, where they got an immediate success. The ever increasing difficulty in dealing with the outside world, communicating, is shown in his illustrations to reflect on ourselves.
The constant development of technology has changed the lives of all but it is still difficult to know whether for better or worse, what is certain is how these images touch us deeply, representing real stereotypes of modern life.
