Opere d’arte a cielo aperto create passeggiando sulle Alpi Francesi. L’artista britannico Simon Beck realizza enormi disegni geometrici nella neve con semplici passeggiate a piedi su pendii o piste coperte dal manto bianco. Unico strumento utilizzato per ‘dipingere’ i suoi piedi, e come tela, distese di neve, più candida che mai. Simon Beck è un artista che realizza vere e proprio sculture camminando con i suoi scarponi sulla neve. Percorrendo letteralmente chilometri, Simon dedica ore per creare un disegno che viene poi coperto da una nuova nevicata o da una bella giornata di sole che scioglie il tutto.
L’artista decide di correre il rischio di vedere la sua opera d’arte sciogliersi e passa molte del suo tempo a realizzare creazioni che ricordano i famosi “Cerchi nel Grano”. Ogni mattina, per realizzare questa poesia Simon cammina infatti circa 9 ore, provvisto di mappa e bussola, muovendosi lungo percorsi che conosce solo lui. Successivamente, una volta sul posto, completare il disegno può richiedere anche due interi giorni.
Di solito, il lavoro più faticoso lo svolge nottetempo, a temperature di congelamento. E subito fotografa la sua creazione: sa bene infatti che non durerà a lungo. Tema comune nella sua arte, la natura temporanea, protagonista di tutti i tuoi lavori mozzafiato! Tutte le opere di Simon Beck, alcune grandi quanto tre campi di calcio, in realtà prendono vita da schizzi fatti con il solo goniometro e un righello. Le sue tele si trovano nei campi di neve di Les Arcs, dove i suoi paesaggi sono inevitabilmente divenuti un tutt’uno con Madre Natura.
